Red Bay Castle

Map Reference: D243262 (3243, 4262)

Red Bay Castle was built in the 16th century by the MacDonnells on the site of an Anglo-Norman motte. Only a small section of the castle wall remains. The motte sits on a rocky outcrop and from the coast road, which passes through the Red Arch nearby, it is an impressive sight, even though so little of the castle remains.
