Tobercornan, Gleninagh North

This structure is often referred to as ‘The Pinnacle Well’. It is a freestanding single-bay single-storey well house in the Gothic Revival style. It was built over a spring about 1860. It has a corbelled rubble-stone roof with dressed stone gable copings and corner pinnacles. The squared stone walls have corner buttresses. There is a pointed doorway. It was a mains water supply for Ballyvaughan in times of drought.
