Youghal Market House
Map Reference: X107778 (2107, 0778)
This building is now Youghal Visitors Centre. It was built c1870 as a market house, possibly operating mainly as a fish market. It is a double-height building with a three-bay gabled front. It formerly had arcaded sides but the exact number and arrangement of the bays is difficult to determine. The arches are of variable width, some of them are now blocked and new openings may have been added. It is possible that it may have had five carriage entrances flanked by two small end bays. It is set in the middle of Market Square.
