Mullaboy Cross

This fragment of a sandstone cross is set at the edge of a small graveyard under an arched recess. The stone on which it stands is a former penal altar. The right arm of the cross is missing. It is about 2.2m high and the shaft is 45cm wide and 20cm thick. The original width of the cross would have been about 80cm. There is no decoration visible but there are carefully worked quarter-circle hollows at the intersection of the arm and the shaft.
