Crobane Standing Stone

Map Reference: J121280 (3121, 3280)

The site of Crobane Standing Stone is labelled ‘Giant’s Grave’ on the old OS maps. This suggests that it may be the remnant of a larger structure. However there are no surface traces of a cairn or socket-holes in the immediate area. The stone is roughly rectangular which gradually tapers to a smooth point. It is about 1.5m high and varies in width at the base from about 50cm to 1m.
