Hillsborough Market House





Hillsborough Market House was built about 1790. It consists mainly of a single-storey building nine bays long by five bays deep. Rising out of the middle of this is square two-storey section of three bays. It is topped by a domed cupola with weather vane. The lower building houses two rectangular sections at each end, each three bays long. One of these sections houses the court-house. The other section contained the Downshire estate office and the central section was the market house.
