Newtownards Market House





Newtownards Market House was built in 1765 by the first Marquess of Londonderry to a design of Ferdinando Stratford. It consists of a large single-bay central section of two storeys flanked by two long lower two-storey wings each of five bays. the central section has a large lower arch . Above this is a Venetian window with Doric pilasters. It is topped by a pediment with a clock. On the roof is a square tower topped by an octagonal cupola with Ionic columns.
