Sheepland Beg Windmill

This windmill stump is 7.6m high by 4.6m internal diameter. The walls are c90cm thick. It was an underdrift mill i.e. the spur wheel drove three pairs of millstones from below. Within the mill are the remains of much of its machinery including the spur wheel which has remnants of its wooden cogs.



The mill was built sometime before 1810.
