Annaghdown Cathedral

Map Reference: M288280 (1288, 2280)

Annaghdown Cathedral has an inserted east window. It is a round-headed window with a richly decorated Romanesque frame.

There are triangular panels containing mainly floral motifs and at least one beast.

Careful inspection shows that the decoration is the continuous image of one beast with the head at the base of one jamb and the tail at the base of the other.

Outside there is a round hood mould. A short distance to the north are several low church ruins.
