Dunmore Castle

Map Reference: M501640 (1501, 2640)

I visited this castle in 1983 and the photographs date from that time. It consists of the shell of a five-storey keep. A castle was built by de Bermingham in the early 14th century and the present building, which dates mainly from the late 16th century, may incorporate part of the original castle. The building shows traces of spiral stairways, fireplaces and garderobes.
