Kiltiernane Church

Map Reference: M437156 (1437, 2156)

I have been unable to find out much about this church from published sources. According to Leask the original internal dimensions were 27ft 3in by 14ft 3in (8.3m by 4.3m). The building was later extended eastwards. The W gable stands almost to full height and displays the typical high-pitched roof, trabeate W doorway and the antae of an early Irish stone church. There are good fragments of the N and S walls but the E end of the church is mostly reduced to foundation level. There is an early simple pointed window in the S wall. Close to the church may be seen the roof lintel of a souterrain.
