Cahergall Stone Fort

Cahergall is a large Staigue-type fort with the lintelled entrance in the south- east.



The walls of the fort have been reconstructed and now stand to about 2m high for the most part. On the eastern side they are about 4m high. Inside there are a number of steps and terraces.



The walls are about 5m thick at the base. In the middle of the fort is the ruin of a round building with walls about 1m high.



The internal diameter of the fort is about 25m.
