Castleisland Market House

Map Reference: Q999097 (0999, 1097)

This building occupies an island position across the end of the main street. It is a two-storey five-bay building. It has a balustrade with a curved pediment, within which is an oculus, which presumably once held a clock. All the bays at the lower storey front are rectangular and, at first glance, the building does not appear to have a typical market house form.

However at the sides of the building, which is two bays deep, there are traces of arched openings. There is an extension (without gables) at the rear of the building. The building is now used as a department store.
