Portarlington Market House

This small market house dates from about 1800. It is a simple three-bay two-storey structure with the central bay breaking forward. It is placed in the centre of a square with four roads leading off it. This is typical of market houses in many small towns where the building must be seen by anyone passing through the town. With the expansion of Port Arlington the positioning of the market house is not now so obvious.
