Dunmahon Castle

Dunmahon Castle is a four-storey tower-house with projecting towers at the NE and NW corners. It is vaulted above the ground floor.



The entrance in the N wall is protected by a murder-hole. A short passage to the left of the entrance leads to a spiral stairway which rises within the NE flanker. The NW flanker house garderobes.



The castle was probably built in the 15th century and was inhabited until the end of the 17th century. It is now in very poor condition.
