Richardstown Church

Map Reference: O016906 (3016, 2906)

This rectangular church measures about 11m by 5m. It has been recently cleaned-up and the condition of the walls suggests that some of them may have been rebuilt. The small single-light window in the west gable has a round-headed arch-stone and moulded sandstone jambs. It may belong to the late 12th century. The opposing north and south doorways indicate a 15th- or 16th-century date. Inside the church is a large polygonal medieval font with an oval basin.
