Ballymacgibbon Cairn

Map Reference: M180554 (1180, 2554)

This large cairn in Ballymacgibbon North is about 30m diameter and over 7m high. It is topped by a very small cairn which is modern. It is possible that the cairn covers a passage tomb. It has not been excavated. It appears to sit inside a stone and earth enclosure which may not be contemporary. It is also closely surrounded by thorn and other growth which makes examination and photographic recording difficult.
