Castlejordan Castles

Map Reference: N580388 (2580, 2388)

This is a rectangular three-storey tower-house with circular flanking-towers at opposing corners. Only one of the towers is clearly visible. The other is hidden by a thick covering of ivy.

The tower has some very good defensive loops.

A wall running SW from the castle may be part of a bawn. About 100m SW of the castle is a fragment of another. This is a circular tower about four storeys high with portions of a NE wall. It is not clear if both castles are separate entities or part of a larger complex.
