Summerhill Village Cross

Map Reference: N850485 (2850, 2485)

On the Village Green there is the shaft of a memorial cross of 1554 to Peter Lynch. On one broad face there is the carving of vines complete with leaves and stems. There are some smaller carvings of beasts and a faint inscription. On the opposite face there is a similar carving but this time the leaves are missing and the carving has more of a wintery look about it. One of the narrow faces has some simple foliage and separate five-petalled florets. The opposite narrow face has a stag hunt.
