Foughill Etra

This little pump is clearly marked 'E Manisty & Co Ltd., Dundalk'. This company had premises on the corner of Clanbrassil Street and Market Square, and also traded under the name of 'Dundalk Iron Co.' They made many products including pumps. Some of the iron pillars in Dundalk Railway Station bear Manisty's name and there is a good weighbridge platform made by them in Louth Village.



Some parts of the pump may be replacements. The handle does not quite fit with the overall neat appearance of the pump, and the lid looks like some of those on Park Street Foundries made by Elliot Bros or Gaskin Bros.
