Village Green, Louth

This pump stands on the edge of the Fair Green next to a weigh-bridge. The inscription is difficult to read but the maker seems to be Russell and the pump was made in the Park Street Foundry, Dundalk. The lower part of the shaft is octagonal and the upper part is round. The spout has some bands and ribs. Another example of this design can be seen at Essexford.

The weigh-bridge platform was made by E Manisty at Dundalk Iron Works. They also made pumps

On the opposite side of the road is a hydrant made by Glenfield & Kennedy. It has a lion-head spout.
