Batterstown






There are two pumps in this village. The first has a cylindrical shaft with three raised bands. It bears the ‘flag’ mark of Lee, Howl and Co. There is a fluted head and the spout has foliate decoration. The fluted domed cap has a spiked finial. The handle has a large lemon-shaped terminal.





The other pump is on the opposite side of the street. It has a fluted shaft. The spout has some fluted decoration where it is attached to the shaft. The head is also fluted, as is the domed cap. There is a spiked finial. The curved handle has a fluted terminal which is somewhat egg-shaped divided by a raised band.
