This pump is in very poor condition. It is missing its cap and handle and whatever remains is covered by lichen and moss.



However a close inspection shows an identifying panel on the side. This shows that the pump was made by Bamfords of Uttoxeter. The lettering at the top reads "Bamford" and "Universal". Beneath this is a shield with a coat-of-arms. Underneath this it reads "Deep well Pump".



Otherwise the pump has a common design. The head is fluted and the spout has a plain outer section with foliate decoration on the inner half.
