Frenchpark Market House

Map Reference: M733912 (1733, 2912)

This little market house is in very poor condition. It is a two-storey three-bay structure. The central bay breaks forward and is surmounted by a pediment. At the lower storey there is a wide central arch. This was originally flanked by two narrower arches. The archway on the right has now been replaced by a large lintelled opening, although the right jamb of the original opening has been retained. The front of the building faces SW and there is a small doorway in the NW wall. The upper storey front has three small rectangular windows with the central window being slightly wider than the other two. If any reader has further information about this market house please let me know. The future of the building looks bleak. It is now being offered for sale with planning permission for twelve luxury one-bedroom apartments with on-site parking.
