Ballyglasheen Castle is a rectangular building with a doorway in the north wall near the east end. It is protected by a very fine machicolation.
There is a round flanking tower at the NE corner. This contains the spiral stairway.
At the opposite corner, in the SW, there is a round bartizan. Along the top of the north wall there is a good row of roof weepers. The interior wall is partly plastered, indicating possibly a relatively recent use for the building.
The castle stands in the middle of a modern farmyard.
