The Buttermarket in Market Street, Clonmel, was built in 1817. It is a two-storey seven-bay building constructed of random sandstone blocks. The lower storey is pierced by four large arched openings asymmetrically distributed along the facade. The lintels and sills of the windows and the stones of the archways are dark grey limestone.
