Longstone Standing Stone and Barrows

Map Reference: R798394 (1798, 1394)

This standing stone is about 2m high and less than 1m square and tapering. On the ground beside it is a large stone with a bullaun.

It stands in the middle of a low circular bank about 15m diameter. Outside this is a shallow ditch and a large flat area. Beyond this is a second broad shallow ditch and an outer bank. The total diameter is about 50m. The entrance is on the east side. On the west and south-west sides are three structures which appear to be small barrows. One is a well-defined, low, circular mound with a ditch. The second is less well-defined and higher and the third is less circular and low.
