Dunnamore Wedge Tomb

Map Reference: H685808 (2685, 3808)

The wedge tomb at Dunnamore is aligned approximately N-S. It is about 14m long by 5m wide. The entrance at the south is intact and consists of two sill-stones capped with a lintel. A group of three lintels remains over the inner part of the gallery.

A high dividing slab 2.4m beyond the entry separates the 2.7m long by 1.8m wide antechambers from the main chamber, 4.7m by 1.5m. There are good traces of a double wall. On the west side centre is a short curving projection which may be part of a subsidiary grave.
