Mullingar Market House

The market house at Mullingar is a fine building. It seems to have been originally a five-bay two-storey structure with the usual large arched openings at the ground floor. At some time a two-storey porch extension was built against the central bay. This has a pedimented front and is topped by a square cupola. When this extension was built another small bay was added at either end of the building. The roof has pediments above each of the four remaining arches but it is not clear if this is an original feature.
